The famous Berlin techno club «Club der visionäre» burned

Early on Saturday 15th June morning, the famous techno club «Club der visionäre» located in a 400 square meter hangar on the Landwehrkanal in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin, was almost completely destroyed by fire.

The large-scale operation to prevent the flames from spreading to the nearby gas station mobilized about 70 city firefighters and three people were slightly injured. Under the slogan «Tokyo Kisses», a Japanese evening with several DJs took place in the club on Friday night to Saturday on the occasion of the birthday of Berlin DJ James Dean Brown.

The «Club der visionäre» has enjoyed international renown in the past and has been ranked among the best techno clubs in the world. A veritable institution of the Berlin scene for almost two decades, the «Club der visionäre» was particularly appreciated for its terrace which advanced above the canal.

The origin of the fire is still unknown. An investigation is underway.
